We The Kingdom
We the Kingdom earns its first No. 1 on Billboard's Christian Airplay chart, as its debut entry, "Holy Water," rises 3-1 on the March 14-dated list, up 8% to 12.4 million impressions, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
The act is comprised of brothers Ed and Scott Cash; the former's daughter Franni and son Martin; and friend Andrew Bergthold.
"We are so overwhelmed that a song that we started in our basement studio about our own journeys has been able to reach the ears of so many people," We the Kingdom tells Billboard in a group statement.
"To have our first single go No. 1 is just the greatest honor. Our hope has always been to make music that connects people with God, but also for people outside of the faith world, or for people that have questions about their faith. Having a No. 1 means we have an opportunity to connect with those people. What an amazing thing."
"Holy Water" is the first debut entry to reach the Christian Airplay summit since Cory Asbury's "Reckless Love," which began a 13-week rule in April 2018. The last group before We the Kingdom to top the tally with a freshman single was Hillary Scott & the Scott Family's "Thy Will," which led for three frames beginning in September 2016. (Hillary Scott is one of the members of star country全民彩票app下载安装安卓 trio Lady Antebellum.)
After "Holy Water" debuted on Christian Airplay last August, We the Kingdom charted a second song that became its first top 10: "Christmas Day," with Chris Tomlin, jingled to No. 10 in December during a five-week seasonal run.
